DISTRIBUTION:

Callionima acuta (Wing span: mm), flies in
Brazil;
Bolivia: Santoa Cruz, La Paz (750-1200m); and
Peru ??.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Callionima acuta adults probably fly as multiple broods.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from pupae formed in flimsy cocoons among leaf litter.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Both males and females nectar at flowers.
