DISTRIBUTION:

Callionima grisescens elegans (Wing span: mm), flies in Brazil and is endemic to the northeastern regions of
Brazil: Rio Grande do Norte (FO): Taboleiro Grande and Extremoz.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Callionima grisescens elegans adults probably fly as multiple broods. Francierlem Oliveira reports early May and early March flights in Extremoz, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, and he reports a March flight in Taboleiro Grande.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from pupae formed in flimsy cocoons among leaf litter.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Both males and females nectar at flowers.
