DISTRIBUTION:

Callionima guiarti (Wing span: mm), flies in
Brazil: Maranhao; Mato Grosso (IK) and
Argentina: Misiones.

Possibly ?? it is now (2015) also recognized in Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Callionima guiarti adults probably fly as multiple broods.

ECLOSION:

Adults eclose from pupae formed in flimsy cocoons among leaf litter.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen. Both males and females nectar at flowers.
