DISTRIBUTION:
   Cautethia noctuiformis noctuiformis, 
[wingspan: 1 1/8 - 1 9/16 inches (2.8 - 4 cm)],
flies in Antigua and Barbuda, Cuba, Hispaniola, Puerto-Rico, St-Thomas, Dominican Republic, St-Martin and St-Bartholomew, and, for the first time, in the Lesser Antilles.
The population from the Lesser Antilles belongs to a new subspecies.
Braesia hipparsus Grote & Robinson, 1868, [Cuba], is the same as Cautethia noctuiformis noctuiformis.

FLIGHT TIMES:
 Cautethia noctuiformis noctuiformis adults  nectar at flowers. 
ECLOSION:
Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterrqnean chambers just prior to eclosion.
SCENTING AND MATING:Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the 
abdomen.  
EGGS, LARVAE, PUPAE:
Larvae  feed on Chiococca alba in Puerto Rico  and Exostema in Cuba.
