DISTRIBUTION:

Euryglottis albostigmata basalis flies in Peru: Puno: Santo Domingo, Carabaya, specimen type locality. I am not sure if basalis retains its subspecies designation or if it has been synonymized with the nominate subspecies???? which is taken further to the north in Colombia and Ecuador.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Euryglottis albostigmata basalis adults probably fly in February-March and August. There are probably additional flight months.

ECLOSION:

Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.
