DISTRIBUTION:

Euryglottis oliver (wingspan: males: 100mm; females: 116mm) flies in Peru: Apurimac; the specimen type locality, at elevations from 2200-2600m. They have also been observed in Cusco, Peru. this is a relatively small species, compared to other Euryglottis species.

FLIGHT TIMES:

Euryglottis oliver adults have ben observed on the wing in Apurimac in February-March-April and November-December. In Cusco they have been observed in March-April-May. There may be additional flight months.

ECLOSION:

Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.

EGGS, LARVAE, PUPAE:

The species name is honourific for Sohn Oliver.
