Marius writes, "The H. lineata has an interesting story; it was a very cold night, around 1 a.m. and I had my UV light turned on in my balcony, just for fun (I like that mysterious bluish light). Now, in front of my balcony (actually very-very close to it) is this quite large Betula papyrifera (paper birch). The moth probably emerged from an overwintering pupa at the bottom of the tree (probably a larva was feeding with its leaves in the 2003 fall) and it came on the same night at my UV light! It was an absolutely gorgeous and perfect (A1+) specimen. I was about to turn off my light when I saw it literally frozen there. It took it at least half an hour of sitting in my warm living room to start thermoregulating.
