DISTRIBUTION:
Manduca gueneei (forewing length: 44mm) flies in Brazil: (specimen type locality):
Rio de Janeiro; Minas Gerais. Fresh specimens often have some reddish brown hairs or scales on the head, thorax and abdomen as well as in the upper half of
the forewing median field.

FLIGHT TIMES:
Manduca gueneei adults fly
ECLOSION:
Pupae probably wiggle to surface from subterranean chambers just prior to eclosion.

SCENTING AND MATING:
Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the
abdomen. Adults take nectar from flowers.
