DISTRIBUTION:

Perigonia jamaicensis moths fly in Jamaica. There seems also to be a report from Para, Brazil, but that is probably in error or an unusal stray.

It is similar to Perigonia lusca lusca but distinguishable by the large, diffuse yellow patch on the basal half of the forewing underside, posterior to the discal cell.

Females call in the males with a pheromone released from a gland at the tip of the abdomen.
